The Month of Gratitude
With Thanksgiving taking place in November, it naturally becomes the month of gratitude and undoubtedly one of my favorite months. I look forward to this time of year for many reasons. The biggest being the opportunity to give thanks for the many amazing things in my life! There are many ways to express gratitude and even more things to be grateful for. Many of these are not actual “things” but the meaningful blessings we have to be grateful for.
So with this month already having a built in theme, our November mindset is obviously centered around gratefulness. I sincerely hope that you take some time this month to focus on all that you have rather than the things you don’t. Because let’s be honest, this is something we can all focus on more.
I find this time of year to be one of the most joyous. It is a time of giving, of great appreciation for all we have and the perfect time for reflection on the many of life’s fortunes. And of course by fortunes, I don’t simply mean money. Many of us count our blessings on things much bigger than money. Here are just a few non-materialistic items to give thanks for this holiday season:
- Your health
- The health of the loved ones around you
- The love of those said loved ones
- Family-by blood and/or by choice
- A home- no matter how big or small, an apartment or mansion
- A career and/or passions that feed your soul
- The love and support of good friends
- Beautiful nature and the world around us
- The sense of community wherever you may find it
- Life’s opportunities-the good, the bad and all the lessons that come with both
This month, I challenge you to silently or publicly take time to think and share (if you feel inclined) the things you are most grateful for. Since the turn to the new month, I have seen many blog and social media posts out there with ideas about how to share. Whether you decide to post your thankfulness on social media, plan to give back by engaging in community service or maybe you prefer to go straight to the source and tell those around you, how much you appreciate them. The point is that there is no wrong way to give thanks.
I will go ahead and start by sharing how thankful I am for all of you, those that take the time to read and support my blogging adventures as well as my social media efforts! I appreciate you!
Speaking of social media (find me here). I will be sharing other ways to give thanks and talking about the things I am most thankful for throughout the month. Join me and share in the love!
As always, if you want to back track and read a few more of my monthly mindset posts, you can do so here!
